About me…
Ella Dabek was born and grew up in Poland. During school years, art was always her favorite subject. After moving to the US with her family at a young age, she navigated a new world while holding dear the memories of her homeland.
In college Ella discovered photography. Back then you had to have a real camera and rolls of film. Every picture counted. She was fascinated especially with Black & White photos.
Later on, she found her creative voice in painting silk scarves.
A year ago, Ella enrolled in online Mastery Program of Milan Art Institute. She knew from the start, this was exactly what she was looking for. Creating art become her passion. It woke her up and she started to paint again and see it and feel it.
As a professional artist Ella continues to explore and refine her artistic expression, blending her heritage and experiences into her vibrant and imaginative work.
She loves God and knows He has a plan for her and she wants to use her unique talent from God she was blessed with to make people happy.
1 Peter 4:10 - “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.”
She lives in South Dakota with her husband and a dog Romeo. Family is very important to her. She has 2 lovely adult children and 2 precious little grandchildren. She loves to travel.
Ella’s favorite Bible verse:
Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".
Original Paintings
My art is a vibrant celebration of nature’s beauty, where rich, bright colors and abstract backgrounds come alive with the gentle presence of birds, animals and flowers. Using acrylics and oils, I capture the essence of the natural world infusing each piece with texture, depth, and emotion.
On Silk Scarves, my delicate and elegant designs dance with the subtle nuances of silk paints, creating wearable art that whispers tales of serenity and wonder. With each brushstroke, I invite you to step into a world of beauty, where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, and the beauty of nature reigns supreme.
When I paint, I like to use idea boards and not the complete source, so I have the freedom
to paint what will come to me during painting. Often using my photos as source.
HAND PAINTED SILK SCARVES
Silk painting really stole my heart. I started to paint scarves a few years ago with the intention of painting just a few for my family, friends and myself. But it is so powerful experience watching how the colors blend together and come alive that I started to paint more and more.
My process:
I use wooden frames made by my husband to stretch the silk. I hand draw the design first with a disappearing pen and then outline it with water soluble resist.
After that I paint and blend colors, let them flow. When I am done painting, I iron it to set the colors in and wash it and iron it again. Length of process depends on the complicity of the design.
Sometimes I use dyes to paint. Then I have to steam the silk for 3hours to set the colors in and then wash it and iron it.
Silk Scarves - they can be a nice accent on your arms or neck
or you can hang them up on the wall of your room as an artwork.
